Day 9 of 2023...

Interesting to think that for people in Ontario, this is the first year in the last several where we haven't had a January of COVID lockdowns. So, the kids are back to school and your work routine is feeling normal but you're feeling unmotivated. Monday can be a difficult day for many people, as it marks the start of a new work or school week. It can be especially challenging to get motivated in January as we come back from the holiday break. By now, 90% of us have forgotten what our New Years' resolutions were and are focused on getting back into our normal routine. Being motivated on Monday is important because it sets the tone for the rest of the week and can help you be more productive and achieve your goals. Here are some tips to help you get motivated on Monday and help you kick off the year right:

  1. Set specific, achievable goals for the week. This will give you a sense of purpose and direction and will help you stay motivated throughout the week.

  2. Plan your week in advance. On Sunday, take some time to write down your schedule for the week and plan out your tasks and responsibilities. This will help you stay organized and on track. (Big fan of this one)

  3. Get a good night's sleep on Sunday. Make sure you get enough sleep on Sunday night so that you are well-rested and ready to tackle the week ahead.

  4. Exercise on Monday morning. Exercise has been shown to boost energy levels and improve mood, so try to get in a workout on Monday morning to start your week off on the right foot.

  5. Eat a healthy breakfast. Eating a nutritious breakfast will help fuel your body and mind for the day ahead.

  6. Make your workspace comfortable and inviting. Having a clean, organized, and comfortable workspace can help you feel more motivated and focused.

  7. Take breaks throughout the day. It's important to take breaks to rest and recharge, so make sure to schedule some time for breaks throughout the day.

  8. Surround yourself with positive people. Being around positive and supportive people can help boost your motivation and energy levels.
